Louise was lovingly known as Novella in her early years, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 22, 2025, at the age of 95. Born and raised in Pleasant Hill, LA, she was a trailblazer from the very beginning. Fiercely independent and determined, she never took no for an answer and lived her life with a rare combination of grit, grace, and unapologetic confidence.
At a young age, Louise married Paul Tyler and the two boldly set out for Seminole, TX, where they lived and worked before returning home to Shreveport. In 1953 they welcomed their son, James, who became the center of her world.

Louise held many jobs throughout her early adulthood, but her true calling emerged when she obtained her real estate license and founded Tyler Realty. At a time when opportunities for women in business were limited, she forged her own path, building a thriving brokerage and becoming a respected entrepreneur and mentor. For more than 30 years she was a leader in the Shreveport real estate community, known not only for her talent and tenacity, but also for the way she championed other women. Many who worked alongside her credit her with shaping their careers, their confidence, and their belief in what was possible.
After retiring, Louise moved to the quiet beauty of her beloved pecan orchard in south Shreveport, where she spent her later years surrounded by family, friends, and the land she cherished. Still shelling pecans and watching her garden flourish until her last day. Above all, Louise will be remembered for her deep devotion to family. She poured her heart into
raising and caring for her three grandchildren, who were blessed to be guided by her wisdom, humor, strength, and unconditional love.
She is survived by her grandchildren Jessica Tyler Comegys (Loyd), Tiffany Denee Tyler, and Jacob Paul Tyler (Erin); her great-grandchildren Kingston Rylee Self, Rylie Katherine Paul, William McLoyd Comegys V, Brynn Estelle Tyler, and Bennett Paul Tyler; and her great-greatgrandchild Delaney Jayne Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Paul Tyler; her son, James Paul Tyler and her beloved daughter-in-law Deborah Womack Tyler. Louise gathered many more friends over a rich and full 95 years of life that she lived to the fullest until the very end.
As per her wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. The family will hold a private celebration of life to honor her extraordinary journey, her resilience, and the legacy she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to cancer research or to a charity of one's choice, made in memory of her son, James.
