Esther A. Ensminger, 93, of Quincy, formerly of Mendon, Illinois, passed away at 8:42 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
Esther was born in Quincy, Illinois on July 17, 1932, a daughter of the late Walter and Matilda (Kroencke) Krutmeier. She married Bruce Ensminger on July 20, 1968, in Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2017.
She received her education at Hughes School, Ursa High School, and graduated from Quincy Senior High in 1950. She later devoted her time to managing her household.
Esther is survived by her son, Rick (Cheryl) Hardy of Arlington, Texas; stepchildren, Tonia Ensminger, Richard Ensminger, Pamela Ensminger and Jay Ensminger; grandchildren Leslie King, Andrew Hardy and Jonathon Hardy, numerous step grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; brother Elmer Krutmeier and her sister, Betty Wright.
A graveside service for Esther is scheduled to take place at 10:00 a.m. on August 21, 2025, at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy, Illinois.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Friends of Unit 4.
