Esther Marie Lachat age 80 formerly of Bemidji, MN and Lately of Dixon, IL passed away on March 19, 2022. She was born on Feb. 23, 1942 in Dayton, OH the daughter of Joseph and Leona M. (Klein) Lachat. Esther is preceded in death by her parents, significant other Andrew Janssen, and their daughter Andrea Janssen. She is survived by her grandson John, her siblings Eugene Lachat of Ozark AR, Francis (Dean Ann) Lachat of Amboy, Eileen Helfrich of Dodge City KS, Nora Woolley of Braselton GA. Jerome Lachat of Braselton GA, Therese (Chester) Smith of Franklin Grove IL, David (JoAnn) Lachat of Olympia, WA, Joseph (Pat) Lachat of Franklin Gove, IL, Michele (Larry) Houghtby of Waterman IL, Christina (David) Shaw of Amboy, her aunt Darlene Klein of Metamora IL, and uncle Norbert (Rose) Lachat of Russia OH. Esther is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many great nieces and nephews. Cremation rites have been accorded. Funeral services will be on Thursday March 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to mass on March 24, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. A memorial has been established to the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Online condolences can be left at www.thejonesfh.com.

Dear Lachat family members,
I am so sorry for your loss! I don´t remember Esther very well; she left home in the early 60´s and I have only seen photos of her since then. I like the picture you chose for the obituary. I am glad that she moved back to Illinois to share her remaining time with her siblings! My prayers are with you all!
