Esther Lee Walker

Esther Lee Osborne Walker, affectionately known as "Queen Esther" and "Cool Aid", was born August 10, 1945 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. She departed this life and entered into heavenly rest on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at her home. Esther joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church#1 on July 1, 1985. She was an active member. She served on the Trustee Board, Usher Board, Missionary Circle, Sunday School, Combined Choir and the Church Kitchen Committee. Esther had a genuine love for her church, church family and her family. She received formal education and worked at Craddock & Terry, SKATS and Hardees in Chase City, VA. She loved the Word of God, spending time with family, friends and fishing. She was married to the late Albert "LP" Walker, Sr. on November 17, 1962. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1999. Esther and "LP" were blessed with four children: Johanna (Mack) Smith of Clarksville, VA, Albert, Jr. (Sharay) Walker of Red Oak, VA, Carolyn (Gregory, Sr.) Reed of Charlotte Court House, VA, and Wendy (Timothy) Lark of Jackson, SC. In addition to her children, she leaves to cherish loving memories her grandchildren: Nita (Ronnie) Shaw, Tevin, Sr. (Kellie) Smith, Amanda Walker, Gregory, Jr. and Christian Reed; eight great-grandchildren: Dezmon, Kevon, Tay'vion, Bryan, Kaydence, TJ, LeeLee and Jakarie; three sisters: Daile Mosley, Margarettus Walker and Annie Osborne; one sister-in-law: Pearl Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. As I woke from day to day, I realized I would not always be here to stay. I had lived to see the sunrise and set, I had walked on ice, which is a figure of speech you see, For in my life the Lord had spared me numerously. As I bid you farewell, I say to you, "strive not to be like me" Though I was blessed you see. But seek to be like the one who can truly make you free.
