Esther Lucille Womack, born Esther Stephens on March 31, 1940, in Cartersville, Georgia, passed away peacefully in her home on November 8, 2025. She was known for her incredible generosity and kind spirit, always cooking for those around her and known widely in the neighborhood for her heart of gold.
Esther is survived by her daughter, Rosa Vernon; her son, Randy Vernon; and her daughter, Sonja Wynn. She was a proud grandmother to Chris Vernon, Joshua Wigington, Trista James, Ashley McClenton, Johnathon Wynn, Brooklyn Wynn, Jason Vernon, and Steven Vernon. Esther was also blessed with several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She shared a special bond with her brother, Lester (June) Stephens; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bus Womack; her parents, Paul and Lois (Evans) Stephens; her sister, Thelma (David) Blackmon; and brothers, James (Ann) Stephens and John Lee (Sarah) Stephens.
A visitation will take place on November 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at David Street Church of God, located at 4 David Street, Cartersville, Georgia. This will be followed by her funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM, and then she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens on the same day.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Vernon, Joshua Wigington, Casey James, Blaine James, Johnathon Wynn, and Timothy (Tree) Thurman.
Esther's warmth and kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
