Ethel Daderko Obituary
Mrs. Ethel Daderko, 102, of Summit Hill, passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, in her residence. She was the wife of the late Michael Daderko.
Born in St. Clair, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Vasil and Paraskevia (Panchar) Draovitch.
Ethel worked at the former Loomtogs Garment Factory in Summit Hill as a seamstress and was a devoted homemaker for her family.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Lansford, having been a longtime choir member. Ethel was also very active in the Ladies Guild of the church as well as in the church's paska bread baking group and pierogi baking group.
Surviving are her daughters, Michele McKenzie, and her husband, Gregory, of Harleysville, and Melanie Gilbert, and her husband, Richard, of Summit Hill; grandchildren, Tamara Hartman, and her husband, Brad, of Maryland, Christopher McKenzie, and his wife, Emma, of Philadelphia, and Michael Gilbert, and his wife, Eileen, of Woodstock, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Charlotte, Graham, Mason, Knox and Colbie; and several nieces and nephews.
Ethel was the last surviving member of her siblings of 11.
Services: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 125 W. Bertsch St., Lansford, with the Rev. Joseph Fester officiating. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, Hometown. Call 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Contributions in Ethel's memory may be made to the church. Funeral arrangements have been placed in the care of the Parambo Funeral Home of Summit Hill. Online condolences may be shared at www.parambofh.com.

Sincerest sympathy to your family. Ethel lived at the end of our block and was a friend to my parents. Always a smile on her face. My dad enjoyed her visits when he was able to sit out on the porch. She certainly was blessed with a beautiful, long life. God bless her and your family.

Ethel was a part of my entire life, beginning as a child growing up across the street and continuing until her death. She was a wonderful friend to my parents and in later years supported my mother with her friendship. We climbed her front yard tree, enjoyed treats on her front stoop, heard stories on our front porch on summer evenings and learned many life lessons from watching her live a life dedicated to her family and her faith. Our families lives have been entwined for many years as neighbors but so much more than that, as wonderful, loyal friends! This is an end of an era and she will be missed but forever a part of my Summit Hill loves.God bless you, Ethel, may you live now in God’s eternal light and love, until we meet again.
