Ethel Rawson (Rashotte)

RAWSON, Ethel (Rashotte) – of Clio, age 79, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Gross Assisted Living in Clio. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. Inurnment will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will welcome visitors from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hurley Neonatal Care Unit, in Ethel's memory.

Ethel was born in Pontiac, MI on August 11, 1946, the only child of the late Gilbert and Harriet (Trombley) Rashotte. She married John Rawson at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roseville, MI on April 24, 1965. They spent 55 happy years together until his death on December 25, 2020. Together they raised their family in Davison, MI. Ethel spent 17 years working at NuVision Optical. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Sweet Adelines, the Flint Banjo Club and the Lapeer Square Stompers Dance Club. Ethel had a passion for collecting glassware, making quilts, and sewing. She loved to bake cookies and told everyone to "take one for each hand". Ethel was a talented piano player. She also loved traveling and going camping with her husband. Some of her favorite days were spent thrifting and dining out with "her girls".

Ethel is survived by her loving daughters, Kimberly (Eugene) Munsell and Krista Rawson.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ethel was preceded in death by her grandson, Shane Andrew Munsell.
