     Etta Lorene (Russell) Lumb, born November 5, 1932 in Enfield, Illinois, passed away on March 24, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family. Etta is preceded in death by her son, Terry, and sisters, Ellen Newman, Christina Newman, Ruby Barger, Betty Martin, Dorothy Jumper, Millie Gwaltney, Mary Fern Russell, and one brother, Lester Barton. She was married to Gilbert Lumb on March 15, 1952, who preceded her in death on January 21, 2014.

     She is survived by her children Sandra (Keith) Johnson, Karen (Scot) Weiss, daughter-in-law Lisa (Terry) Lumb, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Farrah Taylor (Rob Brewer), Josh Haley (Sara Weber), Whitney (Lincoln) Hobbs, Courtney (Matthew) McArthy, Caleb and Caite Weiss. Great-grandchildren include Raymyn Brewer, Noah Haley, Mac Yeida, Mallory and Mason Hobbs, Mattie, Macie and Micah McArthy. Extended family members include Heather Pretzsch, Aiden Pretzsch, Haley Smith, Sawyer Ricketts, Adalee Parks, Hannah (Dusty) Wineberger, Dylan, Ashton and Oaklinn Wineberger. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as special friends, Kilee and Kole Roser, and Charlie Cartmill. She was blessed by her caretakers Michelle McGuire, Vicky Green, and Tanya Littleton.

     Etta was a charter member of Cherry Street General Baptist Church, and played the organ for over 30+ years. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, as well as spending time with her church family, with her special friend Charlie Cartmill, and babysitting her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and “bonus” grandchildren. 

     Funeral Services for Etta Lumb will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2025 at Cherry St. General Baptist Church in Carmi with Jason Craddock and Chris Marsh presiding over the service. Burial will be in Enfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Cherry St. General Baptist Church in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southern Illinois Hospice or Cherry Street General Baptist Church Food Pantry, Envelopes will be available at the church or can be mailed to Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821 who is in charge of arrangements.
