Etta Marshall Obituary

Etta "Huny" Marshall

January 3, 1944 - July 20, 2025

North Kansas City, Missouri - Etta Wyvonne Wilson Pipes Marshall, fondly known to her friends and family as "Huny," passed into her Heavenly home on July 20, 2025.

Etta was born January 3, 1944, on a farm near New Boston (Macon County), Missouri, the youngest of four children of Orley Adron Wilson and Jewell Lucinda (Tallman) Wilson. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerry Wilson, sisters Arleta Waverly Wilson and Reva Stiles.

Etta graduated from high school in Bucklin, Missouri, and later received her degree as a licensed practical nurse in Kirksville. Her nursing career spanned more than five decades, including thirteen years at Liberty Hospital, and caring for patients in their homes throughout the Northland until 2021.

Etta was united in marriage to James Dale Pipes in 1962, and they were blessed with two children. She was later married to Harry Charles Marshall in 1998 until his death in 2014. She was an active member of Fairview Christian Church, where she took care of little ones in the nursery for 17 years and cooked monthly for the "Classic Crowd." Etta was also active with Harry at Ararat Shrine Temple, including membership in the Greeterettes.

Survivors include her children, Vincent Dale Pipes (Dawn) and Cynthia Sue Pipes; grandchildren, James Bland (Shanna), Anthony Pipes (Emma), Christopher Bland (Jessica), and Genevieve Rasmussen (Michael); sister in law Susie Wilson; great-grandchildren, Dayton, Jack, Braiden, Ellieana, Kayden, Bryant, Landyn, Avionia, Emmett, Isla, Ruby, and one great-grandchild due in January 2026. She also leaves behind a circle of extended family and treasured friends who were lucky to be loved by her and loved her right back.

Huny had an incomparable love for life, family, patients, and friends. Her personality brought sunshine to the lives of all who were blessed to know her. She will be missed by all.
