Euba Young Stephenson, age 83 went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, February 24, 2023. Euba is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years David I. Stephenson, parentsDewey & Ava S. Young.
She is survived by: Daughters: Tammy Swindell (Andy) of Durham, NC; Jill Strickhouser, "the Girl" (Doug, "the Boy") of Lexington SC; Julie Stephenson Mazzocchi of Morehead City, NC. Son: Mickey Stephenson (Lynn) of Creedmoor, NC. Sisters: Nell Partin of Angier, NC; Alva Moore of Raleigh, NC. Grandchildren: Aubrey S. Nettles (Greg), Rachel Strickhouser, David Stephenson (Corrine), Ian Swindell, Sean Stephenson, Lauren S. Umbehaunt (Collin), Tanner Mazzocchi & Aiden Mazzocchi. Great-granddaughter: Maeve Stephenson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters: Allie Deal & Ethel Thomas and brothers: James Young & Owen Young.
Euba cherished her husband, David, family, friends and church family. "Granny" was the name she loved best. For most of her life, she served at two Baptist churches in Angier: Neils Creek and later Piney Grove Chapel. She retired years ago fromHudson Belk where she sold furniture and provided decorator services. Euba provided community service by assisting elders in her community with transportation, errands and various projects.
The family will receive friends and family at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 12:30-1:30 PM. A celebration of life service will follow at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church 4440-A Piney Grove Road Angier, NC.
