Mr. Euell Sherman Hanshaw

Euell Sherman Hanshaw, 82, of Pineville passed away, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Wyoming Nursing and Rehab Center at New Richmond following a short illness. Born January 17, 1932 at Guyan, WV he was the son of the late Sherman Hanshaw and Lucy Morgan Hanshaw. Mr. Hanshaw was of the Baptist faith. He served in the US Army and was a retired Sergeant and tank commander. He enjoyed restoring old cars, fixing things, chewing tobacco and being with his family especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Effie Morgan Survivors include his wife, of 63 years, Betty Dorton Hanshaw of Pineville A son, J.R. Hanshaw of N. Palm Beach, FL 2 daughters, Belinda Cook Bias and her husband, Jack of Pineville Debbie Cox and her husband, George of Elizabeth 4 grandchildren, Craig Cook & wife, Stephanie; Tara Hatfield and husband, Adam; G. W. Cox and wife, Amy; and Beth Cox and companion Bill Bradley 12 great-grandchildren, Kadan, Piper, Riley, Maizy, Zane, Jax, Mason and Nate Cook; MaKinlei Hatfield, Morgan, Collins, Tanner Cox and Brooklynn Koehler Rev. Raven Kennedy and Pastor Michael Knotts officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard.
