Eugene was a retired coal miner, and then later retired from L.K.L.P. after years of service. Eugene had been preaching the Gospel for 55-years, his passion was seeing people saved and serving the Lord. Eugene was Founder & Pastor of the Slemp Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, where he had been ministering for 33-years. Pastor Eugene Baker lived the life that was pleasing to the Lord, and his prayer for all that remains would be to serve the Lord with all your heart and meet him in Heaven when your time is called.
Pastor Eugene Baker leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Loving Wife of 59-years, Kathleen Baker of Cornettsville, KY; Son, Kethie Gene Baker & Loretta of Cornettsville, KY; Two Daughters, Minnie Lynn Taulbee & Mike of Winchester, KY and Justine Deaton & Jr. of Cornettsville, KY; Special Nephew whom felt like a Son, Arnold Gene "Sonny" Caudill & wife Carol; Brother, Pearl Jr. Baker & Michelle of Yeaddiss, KY; Seven Grandchildren, Kayla Adams, Whitley Eversole & D.J., Kevin Baker & Bryannah, Justin Deaton, Katelynn Rogers & Zack, Kristopher Gene Deaton, and Cody Taulbee; Four Great-Grandchildren and one on the way, Kaydance Adams, Kali Adams, Riley Kash Adams, Anna Lee Rogers, and Ms. Kathleen on the way; also a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, friends, and Church Family also survives.
Visitation for Pastor Eugene Baker will be held on Friday – November 28, 2025 after 12:00 P.M. at the Slemp Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday – November 29, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at the Slemp Church of the Lord Jesus Christ with Larry Lewis, Darrell Caldwell and Garland Deaton officiating. The Entombment will follow in the Baker Cemetery located at Cornettsville, Kentucky. Grandsons & Friends will serve as Pallbearers.
