Eugene James Dubnik passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, at his home following a long battle with heart failure.
Funeral mass held on October 14, 2025, at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Roswell. Father Adam Ozimek officiated.
VA committal service followed at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga.
Gene was born in Diephaltz, Germany on August 11, 1946. He came to the US with his parents and 2 younger brothers in 1951. He graduated from Jefferson High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia. He was a proud Vietnam veteran and served his country in the Army from 1969 until 1972, when he was honorably discharged.
Gene resided in Roswell with his wife Alice (28 years) and spent many years working in commercial real estate. Gene was a lifelong fisherman, enjoyed tennis, and was an avid reader. Nothing was more important to Gene than his family, and he delighted in portraying Santa at Christmas family gatherings. He loved life and shared his positive outlook with everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his parents Nikolai & Maria (Mys) Dubnik, first wife Janice (Carter) Dubnik and Brother Jessie Dubnik.
Survivors include wife, Alice Jones, son Brian Dubnik of Roswell, daughter Carmen Morris (Daniel) of Greensboro, NC.
Brothers - Andrew Dubnik (Brenda) Williamsport, MD, Tony Dubnik (Cathy) -Talmo, GA, Eddie Dubnik (Susan) Hoschton, GA, Steve Dubnik (Claire) -Rochester, NY and Donald Dubnik (Lisa) Murrayville, GA
Sisters - Tricia Witt (Steve) -Alpharetta, GA, Angie Holland Cumming, GA, Helen Harbuck (Bob) Monroe, GA, Kathy Novak (Paul) Ballwin, MO
10 nephews, 12 nieces, 7 great nephews, and 8 great nieces.
