Rear Adm. Eugene H. Farrell is my Uncle Gene. I say "is" because he simply moved to a higher place of residence, joining his Mama, his baby brother Ray (my dad), sister Maggie, and many other loved ones gone before him. Rest easy, Uncle Gene, enjoy the presence of our Savior, the beauty of heaven without the shackles of frail humanity, as well as the joyous reunion of friends and family. A brand new adventure awaits us.

Admiral Farrell was a man of fortitude and determination. He represented the highest qualities of the men and women who serve in our Navy. He charted the course of his life on the surface of the seas, and we are all dignified by his example. Sleep well and deeply, our neighbor, our friend. Barbara Neisendorf and Anil de Silva
