Eugene A Gougeon Jr, 57 (Gene) of Perth Amboy New Jersey passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Naples Medical Center in Florida with his companion, Ruth by his side, where he recently relocated to start a new life with her.
Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Eugene was a PAHS graduate class of 1983. He previously was employed as a Perth Amboy police officer. He was employed as an electrician for his local union and as well a realtor for JJ Elek of Woodbridge. He was an active member of his community where he coached Little League baseball and football for over 20 years, he was a mentor and an avid animal lover.
He was a huge Miami Dolphins and Mets fan. He loved to travel and see the world. Every year he would take part in the polar bear plunge with his cousin, Danny Reilly and many friends. He was very involved with his family and would do almost anything for them.
Eugene is preceded in his death by his beloved wife of 27 years Marilyn Gougeon, his parents Georgianna (Dern) and Eugene A Gougeon Sr., his sister Patricia Roman and his brother Leonard Gougeon.
He is survived by his sisters, Cheryl and husband Wayne Davis Sr., Darlene and husband Alton Nealy, and Catherine Gougeon. His nieces and nephews, Jacqueline and husband Sam Pritchard, Wayne Jr and wife Carissa Davis, Justine (Gougeon) Matteo, Monica Roman and Bryan Davis. His great nieces and nephews, Trajan Pritchard, Jordan, Bentley and Leila Davis, Justin and Monica Irizarry, Ryan and Davina Matteo. His loving companion Ruth Karaczun and his beloved dogs Taco and Frankie who will miss him dearly.
