Eugene Hanoch Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Highland Park Funeral Home and Crematory on Jan. 14, 2026.
Eugene Floyd "Bud" Hanoch, 78, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026 surrounded by family. Born on January 23, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bud was a man whose kind demeanor and warm smile were a comfort to all who knew him.
A graduate of the University of Kansas, Bud's life was characterized by dedication and service. His commitment to his country was evident through his honorable service with the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. Following his military career as Staff Sergeant, Bud continued to serve the public as a member of the U.S. Marshals Service, and Marshals reserves for decades. He was also a long time deputy with the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office where he worked tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of his community. He continued his career in security until retirement.
Bud's passion for music was a defining aspect of his life. He found endless joy in playing the guitar and singing, talents he cultivated from a young age. His love for travel often found him exploring the country on his motorcycle and camping anywhere he could, creating memories and experiencing the freedom of the open road. Above all, Bud cherished the time spent with his family and friends, who were the cornerstone of his life.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Eleanora Pearl Hanoch and father, Ralph Arthur Hanoch interred Pierce City, Missouri; daughter, Robin Parsons; and sister, Carolyn Bruton. Bud leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his legacy: daughters Regina Hanoch (James) and Tiffany Reed (Branden); grandchildren Jessica, Dustin, Derek, Dayne, Allyssa, Dakota, Dahlia, Conner, and Willow; great-grandchildren Ashsalyn, Ashsiah, and Kinsley; and Diane "Sue" Hadley (David) among numerous dear cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bud's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, VFW, American Legion, or Moose Lodge, reflecting his lifelong commitment to service and community.
The Highland Park Funeral Home in Kansas City, Kansas, is providing care and guidance to Bud's family during this time. A traditional service will be held to honor his life and the indelible impact he had on those around him. His memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of his loved ones.
Eugene's memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23rd, 2026, at 2:00pm at Highland Park Funeral Home.
