Khou Yang Her

Khou Yang Her, age 63, of Jay, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

She was born March 17, 1962, in Xieng Khouang, Laos to Soua Say Yang and Kang Xiong, both of whom preceded her in death. As a child, she fled Laos with her family, lived in Thailand, and immigrated to the United States in 1977. She settled in Kansas City, Kansas, later moved to Pontiac, Michigan in 1984, Rogers, Arkansas in 2002, and Jay, Oklahoma in 2004 where she began her journey into chicken egg farming and agriculture.

She became well known for her produce at local farmers markets, especially her tomatoes. Many came looking for her each season knowing they would leave with the best produce and a little advice whether they asked for it or not.

Khou Yang Her was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was strong, stubborn, resourceful, ambitious, hardworking, and creative. She loved farming, gardening, and providing for her family. One of her proudest accomplishments was owning and paying off her property.

She was a faithful member of Hmong Baptist Mission in Pierce City, Missouri. Her faith guided her life, and we take comfort knowing she is now at peace with the Lord.

She is survived by her husband, Chue Txarh Her; her children Yeng and spouse Kazoua, Sue, Hmong and spouse Gaoly, John and spouse Bee, Kaw and spouse Mao, Gerry and spouse Flor, Doura, and David; her grandchildren Jacob, Lana, Grace, Tim, Joseph, Aden, Jonah, Matthew, Honor, Liam, Kal-El, Ernie, Castile, Orrin, Zari, and Bellamy; and her brothers Blong Yang and Chang Yang.

Visitation: March 14–15, 2026, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Nelson-Berna Funeral Home, Rogers, Arkansas

Burial: 10:00 a.m. Monday Pinnacle Memorial Gardens

Family Message

Our mother was strong, determined, and never gave up. She showed us how to work hard, how to stand firm, and how to care for family above everything. Her life was not easy, but she built something meaningful through persistence and faith. We will carry her lessons, her strength, and her love with us always.
