Eugene Francis Happe, 83, of Evansville passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. He was born April 26, 1942 in Evansville to the late Antonette (Weiss) and Earl Happe.

Eugene graduated from North High School. He installed drywall mostly for Hahn Brothers for many years. Eugene was very creative and enjoyed tinkering and creating things. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and truly loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane Ann (Jackson) Happe; children, Jody (Jason) Gries, Chris (Sara) Happe, Gina (Matt) Niemeier, Shawn Happe and Darren (Ginger) Happe; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Earlene (Chester) Bittner; brothers, Fred (Mary) Happe, Robert (Sharon) Happe and Art Happe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his sister, Theresia Wise.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Ziemer Funeral Home Central Chapel is handling his arrangements.

The family is thankful for the kind and compassionate care Eugene received from Deaconess Hospice.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
