Eugene H. Hartline, 83, of Bowers, died peacefully, Monday, July 7, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he was a patient since Friday. He was the loving husband of Virginia A. (Christman) Hartline. They were married August 25, 1962. Born in Earl Township, Eugene was a son of the late John G. and Ruth I. (Rimby) Hartline.
Gene first worked for Jesse Kroninger Trucking, Dryville, as a truck driver; then as a steel worker for Stanley G. Flagg, Stowe, until his retirement in 2003. Following his retirement, Eugene worked for Henninger's Nursery, Kempton, performing tree care and landscaping.
Gene was a member of Boyer's Junction Hunting Club, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, maintaining his property, and spending time with his great grandson Wesley.
In addition to his wife of nearly 63 years, Ginny, Gene is survived by a daughter, Brenda A. (Hartline), wife of Lester M. Sensenig, Fleetwood; and a son, Timothy E., husband of Lisa A. (Kieffer) Hartline, Hamburg. Other survivors include a sister, Shirley A. (Hartline), wife of Raymond I. Boyer, Fleetwood; three brothers: John G., Jr., widower of Rochelle L. (Scheidt) Hartline, Fleetwood; Raymond B. widower of Anita N. (Knerr) Hartline, and companion of Beverly Estes, Mertztown.; and Larry L., husband of Linda L. (Holland) Hartline, Fleetwood. There are two grandsons, Jerry E. Sensenig, fiance of Maureen Lewis, Oley, and her children, Kylie and Blake; and Jesse K., husband of Ashley (Dunchess) Sensenig, Fleetwood; and a great grandson, Wesley P. Sensenig. In addition to his parents, Eugene was predeceased by a sister, Thelma A. (Hartline) Boyer.
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Eugene's life will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Keith K. Rohrbach, officiating. Inurnment in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
The family requests contributions be considered in Gene's memory to Animal Rescue of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508.
