Eugene Hunt Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Serenity Funeral Home of Bluffdale on Apr. 24, 2024.
Eugene FH Hunt was bigger than life itself. He was a star from the minute he was born on September 24, 1966, in Motootua, Western Samoa to Francis and Alofa Hunt. He passed away April 15, 2024.
With his milky white skin and flaming red hair, everyone knew then he was going to be something great!
At the age of 4 ½ he and his family moved to Salt Lake City, UT. This is where his stardom began to bloom, and he began singing with family bands around the city. He was the youngest Elvis impersonator and he rocked it on the stage. It was very apparent that he was born for the limelight! This is when the Lord brought him together with the Wolfgramm family.
They were also a family of entertainers who were destined for the limelight. Together with his shared parents, Maikeli and Vake Wolfgramm, and his many siblings, they toured the country as a Polynesian dance group called, The Polynesian Pearls.
They worked hard and made a lot of sacrifices, moving around from city to city, playing in bars until 2:00 a.m., having to find food in the most unimaginable places, all while their family grew to 17 children. But these were all the experiences that would aid in their quest for stardom.
Under the guidance of their Grandpa lohani Wolfgramm, whom Eugene loved and adored, their love and faith in the Lord grew immensely, and so did their talents. Finally, in Minneapolis, MN the Lord introduced Don Powell into their lives.
Don had the vision and inspiration to take the Polynesian Pearls and transform them into the world-renowned group, The Jets.
After touring with The Jets for a few years Eugene went on to create a duo called Boys Club. He enjoyed that time also. But he later reunited with his family and continued to play with them.
In 1988, he went to Hawaii for his brother's wedding. He met a girl, through a mutual friend. He had seen this girl before on a video for the Polynesian Cultural Center while on a tour bus. He made a comment that he was going to marry that girl. Well, who knew in June 1990 that his comment would come true. Typical Eugene put his mind to something and never stopped until he got it.
With all the fame and glory that he experienced, his greatest JOY and stardom came from his 4 little stars that called him Daddy.
This is where he was the greatest. He always said that no stage, sold out arena, or cheering crowd brought him more happiness than his children. These were the true jewels in his crown. He was the best dad that sacrificed whatever he had to for his stars to be happy.
He lived for the moments that all his kids were together to just hang out and tell stories. Things got even better on April 19, 2023, when his one and only grandbaby, Tuf lohaniMuliufi Hunt, was born! Life could not have gotten any better for him!
Tuffy...your Papa loves you so much! His stars will deeply miss him, but they have learned from the best how to continue his greatness here on earth, while he continues the work on the other side.
Eugene has been very blessed to have 2 sets of family. Both played a very integral part in his life of greatness and stardom, and he loved them both very much. He loved all his nieces and nephews as his own.
You know Uncle Gene, one cry they all cry. MYKYK. Eugene had many extended families that he loved and admired very much and to him they were his siblings. Family meant everything to him, and he always did anything and everything to make sure that they were okay. Late night visits, phone calls, emergency blessings, last-minute travel to help, and anything else that needed to be done, he was the one to do it with a big smile and even bigger heart.
Eugene was a very loving soul. He loved hard, played hard and always strived to make everyone feel good. He was competitive, smart, talented, friendly, and always willing to give you the shirt off his back. He loved to joke and his come- backs were so quick, and fierce when they had to be. He was a scriptorian that loved the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was never afraid to share it with the world. He never wavered in his faith even in times when there was so much going on. He always knew his Lord and Savior would carry him and his loved ones through anything.
On April 15, 2024, he bid farewell to us all to commence his work in the eternities with all his loved ones that went on before.
We will miss him so so much! Life will not be the same without your being here to take care of us. We have realized how spoiled we have been by you. Stay with us and watch over us. Guide us from up above.
Until that sweet day we meet again.... Layumeesu bye.
