Eugene "Kirk" Kuchinski

Eugene "Kirk" Kuchinski, 80, of Berwick, died Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his home.
Born June 10, 1944 in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Zigmund and Alice (Kuc) Kuchinski.
A graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 1962, he went on to serve in the U.S. National Guard.
In his early years, Mr. Kuchinski owned Kirk's Pizza in Hanover Township. Most recently, he was employed as a film file clerk at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, retiring in 2006.
Kirk attended Nebo Baptist Church, Nanticoke, and was a member of the former Berwick Lions Club. An avid golfer, he was especially proud of his hole-in-one at Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a talented musician and played accordion in his polka band, the Velvetones, and was an excellent cook, loved to fish, and he loved a good game of Scrabble.
Above all, Kirk was a loving husband and father, and cherished spending time with his beloved grandchildren, who brought him much joy.
Kirk is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Jane Lasecki; two daughters: Christine Leandri and her husband, William, of Shavertown, and Darlene Donnelly and her husband, Joseph, of Wapwallopen; three grandchildren: Madelyn, Lauren, and Arianna; and his brother, Bernard Kuchinski and his wife, Elaine, of Sheatown.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 27, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at the Mayo Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Chestnut Street, Berwick, with Pastor Jake Claypoole, his pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Berwick.
The family would like to express their deepest thanks to Kirk's primary caregiver, Sherri Burke, for her kind and compassionate care.
