Eugene F. Line Jr. was born on December 31, 1946. He passed away on October 22, 2025, in Independence, Kansas. A devoted life partner, father, and friend, Eugene enriched the lives of many with his kind spirit and unwavering support.
Eugene dedicated himself to his education, earning a degree in Engineering in 1974, which led him to a successful career as a Chemical Engineer. He initially worked alongside his father at Line Construction Company, and upon his father's passing, he took the helm of the company, continuing the family legacy with pride and dedication.
Throughout his life, Eugene cherished the special moments he shared with his granddaughter, Jaqulyn Wilson. Together, they created countless memories, enjoying simple pleasures such as dining out and shopping. Eugene was a steadfast presence in Jaqulyn's life, always supportive and offering comfort during difficult times. His warm demeanor, coupled with his beautiful blue eyes, made a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Eugene's personality was characterized by kindness and love. He was the kindest person, always eager to lend a helping hand to family and friends in need. His sense of humor brought joy to many, making family gatherings a delightful experience filled with laughter.
In 1964, Eugene enlisted in the U.S. Army, a testament to his commitment to serving his country. He was proud of this accomplishment, which was just one of many in a life filled with achievements. He also expressed great pride in graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Science, becoming a Chemical Engineer, and traveling around the world eight times. Despite these accomplishments, he found the greatest fulfillment in returning home to care for his ailing mother and overcoming challenges, including his decision to quit drinking.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle, and his life partner, Patsy, his sister, Debbie, his mother Dorothy, his father, Eugene, and his uncle, Billy.
Eugene is survived by his loving family, including Jaqulyn Wilson, Eugene Line 3rd, Jennifer Fausnaught, Troy Line, Michael Fausnaught, William Fausnaught, Christopher Hulse, and Aurora Hulse. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle, and his life partner, Patsy.
Services are under the care of Potts Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Morehead Cemetery in Morehead, Kansas, on November 14, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM. The community is invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of a remarkable man whose legacy of love and kindness will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
