Eugene Nannetti Obituary

Eugene "Gene" S. Nannetti, 74, of Rohrersville, MD formerly of Walkersville, MD, passed away on May 24, 2024.

He was the loving husband of Debra (Stottlemyer) Nannetti. They were married for 40 years. Born on March 17, 1950, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Robert and Diana (Junta) Nannetti.

He was the beloved father to one daughter, Dena (Anthony) Tucci of Point of Rocks, MD, and a son, Michael (Kristin) Nannetti of Silver Spring, MD; he was the beloved Grampy to four grandchildren, Mia, Joseph "Joey" and Emma Tucci and Briella Nannetti. He is also survived by one brother, Robert (Nancy) Nannetti of SC; two nephews Robby and Ryan Nannetti. He will also be remembered by his wife's siblings, their spouses, nieces and nephews.

Gene was employed by Giant Food for 44 years, retiring in 2015. He also was a part-time associate at Home Depot for 10 years. Gene loved to golf and spend time in Myrtle Beach.

He was a car enthusiast, repairing them and going to car shows. He loved music and dancing. But most of all he loved being with this family and being "Grampy" to his grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends on June 15th from 10:00-11:00 AM at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Rd, Barnesville, MD, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Gene's memory to Best Friends Animal Society at Bestfriends.org. Eugene Nannetti

Our condolences to Deb and family, so very sorry for your loss. Just recently heard this sad news.

June and I lived next door to the Nannetti family from 1993 to 2021, when we both sold our homes and moved in opposite directions. We became friends and watched each other's children grow from pre-teen to adults with children of their own.

Gene was such a character. I will miss his sense of humor, always had something funny to say.
We shared car stories and helped each other occasionally with repairs that had one of us stalled or stumped. His Beamer (BMW) was his pride and joy, and he kept it in immaculate condition. See ya in car heaven Gene (I hope).

To the Nannetti family and a special condolence to Deb. Geno as I called home was a best friend and co worker and I'm not bashful to say I loved him as a friend. We had many fun times together playing golf. He was very good at it. Geno was a committed father and husband. What I think I'll remember most is that he was a good person. I will miss him a lot. God bless you.

To Debbie , Dena, Michael & family, I had the pleasure of knowing the Nannetti family since1975 , when my late husband & I moved into our home right across the street Walkersville, Gene & Larry would be talking about Giant /Safeway, while Debbie & I became lifelong friends, I watched Dena & Michael as babies grow into the wonderful adults they are today, Gene was such a proud father / grandfather, I will forever remember the quirky little things he would do & when he would start to sing that made me burst out in laughter , I was blessed to have known such a wonderful family ,I'm sending my thoughts & prayers to Debbie, Dena , Michael, & the entire Nannetti Family
