It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Eugene "Gene" Pawlowski who left us on December 31, 2025, at the age of 89 at the Boca Care Center in Boca Raton, Florida after a brief illness.

Gene was born July 15th, 1935, in Lida, Poland to Jan and Janina Pawlowski. He was a devoted husband to Leona for 39 years. Gene is survived by his sons Ed Pawlowski (Susan), Mark Pawlowski, Bob Zeserson (Lee) and David Zeserson and daughter Caroline Pawlowski, sister in-law Joan Zinamon (Larry) and Brother in-law Michael Lifcovich, grandchildren Jeffrey Zeserson and Jacob Siegel-Zeserson, many nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

Gene truly lived the American dream surviving the Nazi work camps coming to America with only his parents left from the war to start a new life. They became citizens and Gene attended Boston English High School. After graduating he joined the Marine Corps and rose to the rank of Sargent. His unthinkable childhood and experiences in the Marine Corp developed his unwavering work ethic and desire to succeed at whatever was put before him. After serving he moved his parents to Brookline, MA where he purchased his first house with GI Bill. He then met Millie, the first of two loves he would share his life. They had a daughter and 2 sons and moved to Wellesley, MA where they developed close ties to friends and St. Paul's Church. They enjoyed traveling, family vacations and topping off the year with hosting Holiday parties. During that time, he began his work career in the warehouse at Graphic Microfilm in Waltham, MA. With his tenacious work ethic, he continued to be promoted and developed into a very successful Vice President of Sales. Gene became a leader in the microfilm industry writing trade articles, speaking at trade shows, winning countless awards and numerous President's Club trips.

Tragedy struck Gene's life when Millie was diagnosed with cancer, and he lost her after a 4 year battle. Devastated, he picked himself up to move forward.

Gene then met his second love, Leona, and spent the next 39 years sharing their lives together. Family was important to Gene; he cherished every new achievement earned and event they participated in. He loved listening to music and fine tuning his stereo system. A big joy was volunteering for the Palm Beach County Emergency Management C.E.R.T., The Boca Raton Police Department and The Palm Beach County Sherrif's Office. He had a wonderful life in Delray Beach with all his friends that became extended family. Enjoying traveling, get togethers and long chats with his neighbors on the street.

In Gene's high school yearbook, he wrote under Ambition: "To become a successful man." I feel we can all agree he accomplished that in both his personal life and professional career.

His legacy lives on through those that knew him and will be remembered for his kindness and love. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Veterans Affair Medical Center website: cdceportal.va.gov/donate_online

A Military funeral Honors and Comital Services will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at a future date to be announced late Spring.

Gene was my first mentor when I entered the microfilm industry. I would go to his office on Saturday mornings and learn the business and borrow his trade magazines (many with his articles inside) and studied everything he told me to learn. He also introduced me to the National Microfilm Association to learn the foundation of our industry and encouraged me to volunteer in the association, which I did for over 40 years. He was a kind, generous man who was loved by employees, business partners and all of his competitors. May he rest in eternal peace with the Lord above.
