Eugene Peacock, born on August 29th, 1940, in Brewton, Alabama, peacefully departed from this world on March 4th, 2024. He was the beloved son of the late Floyd Sr. and Eunice Peacock. Growing up in McKinnon, Florida, Eugene later settled in Pensacola, Florida, in 1965. He was a man of unwavering faith and a devoted husband to Vera Peacock (Mitchell). Eugene took immense pride in fathering seven children; Johnny McNeil, Kevin Peacock, Charlotte (Reginald) Pitts, Keterisha (Kelvin) Blackmon, Sherlita (Anthony) Jackson, Kenneth Peacock, Steven Peacock, plus Eugene's great-grandson, Travarris Blackwell.
He was also a doting grandfather to nine grandchildren; William (Meag'n) Porter, Shakwana (Christopher) Gilmer, Talethia (Frank) Carter, Willie (Tamnika) Porter Jr., Ernest Porter, Jaleza Porter, Christopher Pritchett, Frances Peacock, and Kawanda (Devonte) Mickles, along with twenty-four great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
Eugene's life was marked by hard work, dedication, and love for his family. His career spanned 45+ years, during which he worked tirelessly for major companies including Island Authority, Gibbs Sanitation, and Reichold Chemicals Inc., formerly Newport. He retired from Reichold Chemicals Inc., leaving behind a legacy of diligence and commitment.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Eugene was an avid sports enthusiast who cherished moments spent with his family. He had a particular fondness for Church's Chicken, a pepper, and a Pepsi drink; a simple pleasure that brought him joy.
Eugene Peacock will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Though he may no longer walk among us, his memory will forever remain etched in our hearts. Rest in peace, Eugene, knowing that you will never be forgotten.
