Eugene Posey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waller Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Mar. 13, 2026.
Eugene Bramlett Posey, age 86, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at the Mississippi Veterans Home in Oxford, Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Ann Posey. He is survived by his three children: Cindy Burton (Steve) of Selma, Alabama; Jeff Posey (Amanda) of Decatur, Mississippi; and Sharon Posey Lofton of Ridgeland, Mississippi. He is also survived by his brother, Chucky Posey, as well as five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was born on October 28, 1939 in Oxford, Mississippi. Bramlett later made his home in Brandon, Mississippi, where he resided for many years. Bramlett was a retired salesman who took pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career. Outside of work, he was an avid hunter and fisherman who truly enjoyed life and the time he spent outdoors. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army and later continued his service as a Military Officer in the National Guard.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Enhabit Hospice Care, specifically his personal hospice nurses Aston Goode and Stephanie Crumpton who treated him like family. They would also like to thank the dedicated staff at the Mississippi Veterans Home in Oxford for the care and compassion they showed during his final days.

Bramlett will be fondly remembered for his service to his country and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He truly lived his life to the fullest.

Graveside services with Rev. Steve Burton officiating will be held on March 22, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Oxford Memorial Cemetery in Oxford, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Mississippi Veterans Home, 120 Veterans Drive, Oxford, MS 38655.
