On June 20, 2024, Eugene John Roach (Gene the Marine) was called to heaven because the Lord was looking for a “Few Good Men” to guard his heavenly home.
Eugene was the son of the late Mae and Frank Roach.
Loving husband and best friend to his late wife Jeanie Roach (48 years)
Beloved father to John & Christine Roach, Thomas & Susan Roach, Christopher & Diane Roach and Kathleen & Sean Reilly.
Adored grandfather to Tommy Roach Jr., Emily Roach, John Roach Jr., Jason Roach, Jamie Roach, Sean Reilly Jr., Anya Reilly, Alaina Reilly and Andrew Miller.
Beloved Brother of Joan Mangieri and the late Sam Mangieri.
Beloved Brother in law to Elaine Franzitta and the late Joseph Franzitta.
Adored fiancé of Rosemary Babitch.

Eugene was a highly decorated Lieutenant of the NYTPD and NYPD for 32 years.
Proud member of the USMC Presidential Honor Guard.
Graduate of City University with a B.A. in English & Literature.
Substitute teacher, Former board member of the NYPD – USMC Association.
Member of the American Legion Post 155, Alzheimer’s Association, Autism Speaks, The Audubon Society and the Nature Conservatory.
Eugene enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, fishing, bird watching, reading classical literature. He was a self proclaimed bad poet and terrible playwright.
His favorite place in the world was Speculator, NY in the Adirondack Mountains.
Eugene’s favorite thing to do was being surrounded by his family especially his grandchildren.
