He was a New York City police sergeant for over 20 years. Eugene was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Eugene is survived by his son, Eugene M. Rooney and his wife, Evelyn of HI; daughter, Mary Rinfret of Palmerton; grandchildren, Matthew Rinfret, Casey Burger, Kathleen Coleman, Isabella Rooney, Aidan Rooney; great grandchildren, Fynn, Nora, Benjamin, and Áine.
In addition to his parents, Eugene was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen (Bohn) Rooney and his siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Gethsemane Cemetery, William Penn Hwy, Palmer Twp. Arrangements are entrusted to Morello Funeral Home, Inc., 3720 Nicholas Street, Easton, PA (Palmer Twp.) Online condolences may be offered at www.morellofuneralhome.com
