Called home to the Lord and is reunited with his wife, Bonnie, his daughter Sherry and son Steve, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, age 81. Loving dad of Shelly Schaefer and Susie (TJ) Wojciechowski. Special grandpa of Kristina (Matt) Becker, James Stuettgen, Sarah (Matthew) Gradinjan, Alex Stuettgen, Max Stuettgen and Steven Faust. Further survived by step grandchildren, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53222, on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Funeral Service at 1:15 PM.
Gene loved the good old days at Roadside, where the Schaefer Shuffle was born. He liked to be in his basement, also known as the Cadillac Lounge, where he and Bonnie created many memories. He enjoyed fishing in Crivitz, campfires, and playing cribbage with his family and friends.

We are sorry for your loss. Would always wave as he sat in his chair in the driveway watching the neighborhood. The Polka music was always playing.
