Passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 24th at the age of 82.
He was born on July 19th, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Anna Vyletel.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife Maureen Vyletel of Grosse Pointe Shores and his devoted sister Anne Margaret Dikin. Also survived by his step daughter Beth Keys (Dr. David Lebec), daughters Suzanne Delicata (Nicola) and Carole Raynal (William), sons Marshall Vyletel (Leslie) and Andre Vyletel (Meghan) Also survived by twelve grandchildren, Vincent Delicata (Katie), Suzanne Vyletel, Natalee Kocik (Jonny), Kyle Rivard, Madeline Watson (Zachary), Francesca Joye (Jacob), Marshall Vyletel Jr., Dominic Delicata, Samuel Rivard, Andrew Vyletel, Jackson Vyletel, and Aaron Vyletel. Great grandchildren Tessa and Avery Delicata and two more on the way.
Eugene graduated from Harper Woods High School in 1958, afterwards he served in the US Navy as a sonar tech for three years. He was a devoted father, mentor to many, God loving man who was a lifelong active member in his church. He was a generous man, even known to give a friend the shirt off of his back. Eugene's love for the water continued after the navy as an avid boater and member of the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club for over 40 years. His favorite pastime, besides his many dogs, was sailing Lake St Clair with his wife Renee and their children and grandchildren. He was known to keep the boat freezer stocked with candy and ice cream for the sailing trips. He was also a prominent and well respected business owner starting Vyletel group in 1975 which is now located in Sterling Heights.
Visitation will be Thursday July 28th from 2:00pm until the 6:00pm Funeral Service at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Donations preferred to Next Step 4 Seniors Foundation (https://nextsteps4seniorsfoundation.kindful.com/?campaign=1208384).

I didn't know why I did a internet search on Gene at this time but was shocked to see he just passed away. I was his childhood friend with many memories of him, and his parents, and his sister Margaret. After graduating from college left Michigan and saw Gene occasionally when I would return to Michigan. He always had that entrepreneurial spirit which he fulfilled and then some. May he rest in peace and I will never forget him and our time together growing up.

I met Mr. V when I started working at his dealership some 35 years ago. I found him to be an honest, hard-working, congenial man with a winning smile and a firm handshake. He was instantly likeable. He later proved himself to be a caring boss, a wise mentor, a smart businessman and a very loving person with boundless energy. His persona has carried over to all of his employees and clients. His ideology is still
apparent today. Marshall & Andy have overseen some dramatic changes at the dealership but they never lost touch with the ideals of their father. They are a living testimony to his business acumen. I grieve with all of Gene's family today as we face the loss of one of God's humble servants.
