Eugene Winship Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carrillo Funeral Homes - Dallas on Mar. 26, 2026.
Eugene Corel Winship, age 65, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on March 22, 2026. He was born on April 18, 1960, in Dallas, where he spent his entire life rooted in family, faith, and the community he loved.

Eugene was the son of Cornelius Winship and Wilma Faye Flemmings, and the beloved brother of Billy Gene Winship. A hardworking and talented handyman, he built his career working for himself, known for always staying busy and always having a project in motion. His hands were rarely still, and his dedication showed in everything he touched.

A proud and lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Eugene carried his love for the team-and his favorite color, blue-everywhere he went. He enjoyed the simple comforts of life: Chinese food, McDonald's, and an ice cold Dr Pepper. His humor was one of his most memorable traits; his family often described him as a little kid in a man's body, always joking, always smiling, always bringing joy into the room.

Eugene had a special love for dogs, especially his companions Russel and T Bone. T Bone, his all white pit bull with a single black spot, was his pride-he loved that unique spot and talked about it often.

Above all, Eugene was a devoted family man. He is survived by his children:

Antonio Nico Winship, Quinton Winship, Christopher Winship, Elisha Winship, and Nathalie Hernandez. He cherished his kids and grandkids deeply, offering them love, laughter, and unwavering strength. His presence was a source of comfort, and his playful spirit made every moment with him memorable.

A man of faith, Eugene was a devoted Catholic, carrying his beliefs with quiet strength throughout his life.

Eugene will be remembered for his laughter, his kindness, his hardworking nature, and the love he shared so freely. His absence leaves a profound emptiness, but his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.

May he rest in peace.
