Eugene (Gene) R. Zirk, 78, of Kendall, WI, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday evening, August 9, 2024.
Gene was born at home on November 23, 1945, to Milladore (Jones) and Edward Zirk, Sr. He married Louise Knoll on February 4, 1967, in Kendall, WI.
Gene was a proud Registered Jersey dairy farmer and family man. He had many one-liners that people will remember, such as "Dedication, determination and drive," "Don't tell me, show me," and "If you're not willing to do it right, don't do it at all" to name a few.
Gene will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Louise; two children Allen (Amy) Zirk and Angie (Dave) Rosga; four grandchildren Max and Jon Zirk and Alayna and Owen Rosga; sister Deb Coldren, sister-in-law Pat Knoll, brother-in-law Mike (Chris) Knoll, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Eddie (Betty) Zirk, Jr. and Wally (Shirley) Zirk, sister Beata Franke, nephew Steve Zirk and brother-in-law Butch Coldren.
The family would like to thank their farm neighbors, friends and past farm hands for their friendship over the years. Also, thank you to the past and present Co-op, Preston and Hillsboro Equipment employees for their years of service and friendship. A special thank you is extended to St. Croix Hospice for their support to Gene and the family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 1-3 p.m. at the Kendall Community Hall, 219 West South Railroad St., Kendall, WI. Per Gene's wishes, no other services will be held.
