Eugenia Piatt Sorgnit

Eugenia Piatt Sorgnit, 101, beloved wife of the late, Ernest F. Sorgnit, died Saturday, November 5, 2022.
Born in Newport News, VA, she was the daughter of the late Abner and Lola Roscoe Piatt.
Eugenia lived a full life. She sang in the church choir from the age of 8 until well in her 90's. She was an actress in a local theatre in Washington, D.C. and was a volunteer at N.A.S.A.. She was very active, and enjoyed playing golf, skiing and walking outside, anytime of the year. She treasured her many hours of friendship over the years, playing bridge.
She is survived by daughter, Erna Mahony and husband, Joseph; daughter-in-law, Patricia Sorgnit; two granddaughters, Moira Hanna and husband, Nathan, and Heather Schafer, and husband, Steve; five great-grandchild Jenna, Megan, Anna, Everett, and Keegan.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eugenia was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Sorgnit; and grandson, Brett Sorgnit.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
