Henry was born on January 20, 1938, in
Shreveport, Louisiana, to the late William and Maria Hewes Robinson, Sr. He was raised in LaGrange, Georgia, before continuing his education in Atlanta, where he proudly graduated from Georgia Tech with a bachelor's degree in engineering. While in college, he met his wife of 57 years, Frances Kelley Robinson. His career began in Greenville, S.C., where they made lifelong friends. Together, they nurtured a loving family, which Henry cherished deeply.
A distinguished engineer, Henry began his career with JP Stevens and later retired from Hoechst Celanese.
Henry was an accomplished golfer and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus where he formed many cherished relationships. Beyond that, he was simply fun – someone known for his humor who loved gatherings, celebrations, and being surrounded by family and friends.
Henry (known as "Big Daddy" to his grandchildren) was someone people could count on. Henry was always ready to lend a hand, fix what was broken, or offer advice when someone needed support. Whether helping family, assisting friends, or serving his community, he gave generously of his time and talents. Henry's greatest joy in life was his family, whom he loved with unwavering devotion.
His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his daughters, Kelley Carmichael (John), Dana Tiller, and Andrea Jones; four adoring grandchildren, Hank and Caroline Carmichael, Hunter Jones (Ellie), and Maddie Jones; one precious great-granddaughter, Joanna Jones; his youngest brother-in-law, Jerry P. Kelley (Kerry), his brother, Bill Robinson (Patsy), his loving companion, Rachel Picklesimer, and countless friends whose lives he touched.
In addition to his parents, Henry was predeceased by his wife, Frances Kelley Robinson; his sister, Anne Lipp, and his son-in-law, John H. Tiller.
