Eula Mae (Strickland) McKenzie was born on September 14, 1957, in Camden, AR, to PW and Roletha (Oliver) Strickland.
Eula united with Brown’s Temple Church Of God In Christ at an early age and later joined St. Matthew Church Of God In Christ under the pastoral leadership of her brother, Bishop Jerome Strickland, Sr. She began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, continuing her medical work as an in-home nurse, and later dedicated herself to caring for her parents in their later years.
She was preceded in death by her father, PW Strickland; mother, Roletha (Oliver) Strickland; and brothers Donald Ray Strickland, Perry Devon Strickland, Sr., and John Wayne Strickland, Sr.
Affectionately known as "Sista" by her family, Eula was a caring and loving daughter, sister, mother, and friend. She enjoyed reading, watching crime movies and shows, fishing, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Eula transitioned from this earthly life surrounded by her children, their spouses, and grandchildren. She leaves behind family and many friends to cherish her memory. She will be forever missed by her children from her first union (Sunday Owoh): son, Richard D’Wayne Owoh, Sr. (Shari) of Sacramento, CA; son, Dr. Jeremiah Strickland Owoh, Sr. (Natosha) of San Antonio, TX; and son, Dr. Jeremy Strickland Owoh (Katrina) of Jacksonville, AR; and from her second union (Jessie McKenzie) a daughter, Jessica Marie McKenzie of McKinney, TX. She is also survived by her siblings: Bishop Jerome Strickland, Sr. (Earnestine) of Little Rock, AR; Andra Strickland, Sr. (Marcey) of Bearden, AR; Jimmy Strickland, Sr. (Shirley); Joe Allen Strickland; and sister, Carolyn Strickland, all of Camden, AR; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
