Eula McDonnieal Spengler was called home to be with her Heavenly Father on February 15, 2026.
She was born on March 5, 1928 to William Luther McDonnieal and Daisy Kennedy McDonnieal in the Summerland community in Smith County. She was the youngest of eight siblings. She was raised in a tight knit family and growing up was an active member of Summerland Baptist Church.
She moved to Jackson and in 1952 married Charles Spengler. They moved to Brandon where they raised their two children. Eula worked many years and retired from the Rankin County Tax Assessor’s office. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of many clubs through the years, enjoyed working in her yard, and spending time with her family (especially her great grandchildren). She was a faithful member of Brandon First Methodist Church for 65 years where she regularly attended church and Sunday school.
Eula was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband and her daughter-in-law (Sandra Spengler). She is survived by her children: Donna Wilson (Felon), Steve Spengler (Vickie), her grandchildren: Emily Battle (Josh), William Wilson, Sarah Compton (Will), Sam Spengler (Reagan), great-grandchildren: Jordan Battle, John Owen Compton, Addie Compton, Betsy Compton, Grayson Spengler, and Eleanor Spengler. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
The family is thankful for Jean Sanderson Brunt (caregiver and friend) who took care of mama and became a close friend.
The family also would like to offer a special thanks to The Blake at Flowood for the loving care they provided the past year.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 am at Floral Hill Memory Gardens in Pearl.
