Eunice Hoefler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sippel Funeral Home - New Holstein on Dec. 10, 2025.
Eunice (Buchholz) Hoefler, age 101, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Willowdale Health Services.
Eunice was born October 24, 1924, in Kiel, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Herman and Hulda (Westphalen) Buchholz. She married Joseph Hoefler on September 23, 1944. They farmed in the Township of New Holstein for 50 years where Eunice helped with the farm operation and raising five children. After retirement, they moved to New Holstein in 1995 where they enjoyed their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Joseph preceded her in death on January 19, 2002.
As her children grew, she was a long-time 4-H leader specializing in sewing. She also belonged to the Eaton Cemetery Laidies Aide and was a member of the Family Pride Homemakers. She belonged to a knitting club and made countless knitted caps for the Rawhide Boys Ranch. She volunteered at the New Holstein Senior Center meal site and the Christian Thrift Store. Eunice helped at the blood bank since 1968. She was an avid gardener and loved watching the birds that visited her numerous flower beds. The couple enjoyed dancing, traveling, and visiting many foreign countries.
Eunice is survived by her daughters, JoAnn (Bill) Klich of Kiel, Janet (Walter) Miller of Plymouth, and Patricia (David) Gebhart of La Crosse; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; and in-laws.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph; son, Joseph II; daughter, Renee Hoefler; grandson, Joseph III; numerous relatives; and friends.
A private gravesite service will be held at a later date at the Eaton Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Willowdale Health Services.
