Eunice Kipp

Eunice Kipp, 87, passed away September 21, 2025 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Christ Lutheran Church in Salem. Visitation with family present will begin at 6 pm on Thursday, with a prayer service at 7 pm, at Kinzley Funeral Home.

Eunice Elaine Getman was born June 27th, 1938, to Richard and Gladys Getman in Sioux Falls, SD. She graduated from Washington High School in 1956. After high school she worked at Ross Lumber in Sioux Falls while attending class at Nettleton Business College.

Eunice married Leroy Kipp in Sioux Falls on October 31, 1959. They were blessed with two daughters, Deb And Dawn.

While married to Leroy her family lived in Minneapolis, MN for fourteen years; Peoria, IL for fifteen years and Sioux Falls for five years. After retirement, Lee and Eunice built a home in Salem where they lived for 26 years. They moved to Good Samaritan Lodge Independent Living in Sioux Falls, where she currently resided, in October 2021.

Eunice and Leroy also loved to travel. They were in all 50 states, a lot of Canada, Mexico and to over 60 countries.

Eunice worked at Kinney Shoes from 1965 to 1994 as a bookkeeper, sales and assistant Manager.

After moving to Salem, she became licensed to make cakes & desserts which everyone enjoyed. She loved to decorate for all holidays and special events with the Christmas season being especially important and an exciting time for her.

Eunice loved her family and friends and enjoyed entertaining and cooking. Eunice spent many hours tending to and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. Eunice was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Salem.

Preceding Eunice in death were her husband, Leroy and parents Richard and Gladys, two brothers, one infant sister and two brother-in-laws.

Eunice is survived by her daughters: Deb (John) Scheier and Dawn (Pat) Scheier, all of Salem; her grandchildren- Joe (Anna) Scheier of Denver, SD, Rebecca (Drew) Lacey of Denver, Brittany (Jobin) Varghese of Houston, Ben Scheier (Jessica Engebrestson) of Sioux Falls, SD and Jill (Chidi) Ohaeri of Denver; five great grandkids; sisters-in-law Charlene Larson and Adele Kipp; very special friends, Ed and Shari Kranz and many other nieces and nephews.
