Eunice M. Schorpp, 98, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, August 15, 2024, at home.
Services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Visitation is from 1:00 until time of services. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Community Christian Fellowship.
The former Eunice Mae Verdegem was born March 12, 1926, in Moline, the daughter of Clifford and Vera Irene (Carlson) Verdegem. She married the love of her life, James Schorpp, on July 16, 1949, in Moline. He died March 15, 2002.
Eunice worked at John Deere for eight years before devoting herself to her family and raising her children alongside her husband. She was an active member of Community Christian Fellowship, Moline.
She was a voracious reader and enjoyed her long walks around Moline. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Eunice, and she especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eunice is survived by her children: Karen Duyvejonck of Moline, Jill (John) Taylor of East Moline, Doug Schorpp of Davenport, and John Schorpp of Moline; grandchildren: Carrie (Dr. John) Zozzaro, Jeff (Alicia) Duyvejonck, Gail Taylor, Seth Taylor, and Kyle (Cynthia) Taylor; ten great-grandchildren; and two half-sisters, Kathleen (Gene) Franklin, and Judy (Neil) Bartlett.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Vera Verdegem; her father and stepmother, Clifford and Magdeline (Frisk) Verdegem; her son-in-law, Dan Duyvejonck; and an infant son, Kent Clifford.
The family would like to give special thanks to Eunice's aunt, Luella Hartwick and her husband, Guy, as well as Eunice's son, John, for the wonderful care given to Eunice over the years.

Eunice was one of the best people I have ever known. The love she and her husband Jim gave me is and will continue to be a gift that has made a profound difference in my life and for which I'm grateful beyond measure. I will miss her.
