Eunice L. Withers gained her wings peacefully Wednesday July 2,2025 surrounded by her loved ones. Born on November 11, 1951, in Lynchburg, Va. to the late Robert E. Withers Jr. and Christine Calloway Withers; she was preceded in death by her brother Robert E. Withers III and niece Patrice M. Withers.
She was a part of the last graduating class of Dunbar High School and a member of White Rock Baptist Church. Eunice worked various jobs none were more rewarding than Miller Park Pool, Hutcherson Early Learning Center and Lynchburg Recreation Department, where she was able to use her best skill as “Mother”. Affectionately known as Ms. Eunice; she guided, counseled and gave tough love to the youth in the community. Many would remember Eunice for her love of music and dancing. If a song had a nice beat, she would be on the floor with or without a crowd.
Eunice was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by one daughter Kenita R. Withers of Lynchburg, Va.; Four grandchildren Jakea, Nadia, Camryn and Caden of Lynchburg, Va; Five great-grandchildren Amare’, Kayson, Journi, Khylian and Krue and one special niece Jaliyah; Three brothers Gregory Withers (Clara), Ronald Withers, Darryl Withers (Chevelle); One sister Min. Veronica Johnson (Melvin); Three Aunts Marguarite Payne, Julia Paige, and Cora Ross (William); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Eunice will be remembered for her boundless love and joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life will be held at White Rock Baptist Church on Monday, July 14, 2025 at 12 pm. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 6-8 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Interment will follow the service at Forest Hill memorial Park.
