Eutha Rebecca (Haynes) Larew, 95, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on January 26, 2025. She was born in Silver Grove, Kentucky, on November 8, 1929, the daughter of the late John Milton Haynes and Violah Alice (Price) Haynes. She graduated from Keyser High School, fell in love with and married Edgar Philip Larew, and followed him to each Air Force base he was assigned over 22 years of service with their three children in tow.
Her first job was at McCrory's Five & Dime Store in the toy department and she later worked and retired from North Central Community Action in Kingwood, West Virginia. She was also the first female county commissioner for Preston County representing Lyon District, West Virginia. She was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Auxiliary in Grafton, West Virginia, the Rebekahs & Oddfellows Lodges in Keyser and Newburg, West Virginia, and was instrumental in the establishment of Habitat For Humanity in Preston County.
Among her many talents were creating costume jewelry, crocheting and, quilting. She was a dowser, locating many water sources for wells in her community. This was a God-given talent which, when paid, she donated to her church. She could reupholster furniture, perform engine repair, and, make the best homemade bread and doughnuts. She enjoyed playing solitaire and Tri-Ominoes and doing word searches and jigsaw puzzles. She loved coloring and reading mystery novels. She also followed the "real news" found within the National Enquirer in her spare time.
She leaves behind her children Robert Larew and his spouse, Sherry, and Ginger Larew and her spouse, Joseph Morasco. Her brother, Walter Haynes, and spouse, Connie. Her grandchildren Robin Seley, Jonathan King and spouse, Sarah and Brent King and spouse, Crystal as well as her great-grandchildren Amelia and Elizabeth Seley and Deborah, Wesley and Matthew King. We will all cherish her memory until we are all reunited once more. A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate a life well lived and a woman greatly adored. In place of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal shelter or food bank.
Mrs. Larew is entrusted to Kelvin Lewis, the funeral director, and the Lewis Crematory & Funeral Home Staff of Myrtle Beach, SC.
