Smith & Buckner Funeral HomeMrs. Eva Hicks Brower, 89, passed away early Thursday, August 28th, 2025 at UNC Hospice in Hillsborough, NC.
Eva was born May 5th, 1936; a daughter to the late Lona Langley and John Thomas Hicks.
A native of Randolph County, she lived most of her life in Staley, NC. She graduated from Staley School in 1953. She attended King's Business School and graduated in 1955. Her successful career in Finance began at GMAC in Greensboro, NC, progressing to Klopman Mills in Asheboro, NC. She ended her career by retiring from First Union Bank in Siler City, NC. After retirement, she moved to Siler City to be closer to her daughter and family.
Eva was a life-long member of Moon's Chapel Baptist Church. She was loving and faithful in her earthly walk. She was a wonderful and kind person who aided and helped many people in their time of need.
In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Randall Paul Brower; her brother, Clyde Hicks; her nephew, Earl Ray Hicks; and her infant grandson.
Left to cherish her memory, are her daughter, Karen Brower Cockman (Carlos), of Siler City; her granddaughters, Christina C. Causey (Josh) and Jessica C. McIntyre (Cade); and her great-grandchildren, Nora Marie Causey and Elliott Marshall McIntyre.
A Gravesite Funeral Service will be held 10:30AM, Saturday, August 30, 20205 at Parks Crossroads Christian Church Cemetery - 2057 Parks Crossroads Church Rd, Ramseur, NC 27316.
Pastor Todd Nance will officiate the service.
The family would like to thank the staff of Dunmore Assisted Living in Siler City, for their loving care of Mom; and to UNC Hospice for aiding in her journey home.
