Eva Hatcher Burnett

Eva Hatcher Burnett, age 99 of Altavista, VA passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025.  She was born January 1, 1926 a daughter of the late James Walter and May Shively Hatcher. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Ross Burnett; son, Richard Burnett; brother, Archie Hatcher; sisters, Goldie H. Bowling (Ottis), Dorothy H. Wray (Roy), Irene H. Burnett (Bill), Vivian H. Pugh (Wayne) and Nona Hatcher. Mrs. Burnett was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Many years ago she enjoyed entertaining her family and friends at their lake home, she enjoyed walking and walked 5 miles a day, she also loved solving crossword puzzles, watching the Sunday races and golf games on TV. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Diane B. Trisler (Wilbert); grandchildren, Kim Burnett Hodges (Jamie), Greg Burnett (Audrey), Angie Trisler Huff (Keith), Evan Trisler; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alice Burnett Gourley; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will be in the Burnett Family Cemetery in Ferrum, VA.
