Conner Bowman Funeral Home - Virginia Market Pl.Marcus Dillard Keen age 20 of New Castle passed away unexpectantly on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 due to injuries sustained in an auto accident while working. He was preceded in death by his brother, Justin Baird; and his paternal grandparents, Vern and Lottie Keen.
Marcus was born on October 14, 2005 a son of David and Cindy Keen. He graduated from Craig County High School and was employed by Stanley Steemer. He was a kind loving soul with a big heart and often referred by his mom as gentle giant. Some of his life passions were playing golf and mud bogging with his daddy. Family time was important to him and spending time with Hannah and Bailey made it even more special. He will forever be missed and always loved by everyone who knew him. He is gone too soon but God has a better plan for all of us.
He is survived by his parents, David and Cindy Keen; sisters, Ashlyn "Sissy" Keen and Kelly Maloney (Jason); maternal grandparents, Mike Carter, Sr. and Patricia Shifflett; Aunt, Angie Huffman (Tim); Uncle, Michael Carter, Jr. (Dawn). He is also survived by his beloved girlfriend, Hannah Bryant; his canine companion, "Bailey"; nephews, Liam Baird and Maddox Maloney; cousins, Shawn Carter, Zack Carter, Maggie Huffman and Mason Huffman; numerous other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted 3:00 PM Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Grace Baptist Church, 159 Old Railroad Avenue, New Castle, VA 24127 with Pastor Chris Fisher officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church beginning at 2:00 PM. Everyone is invited to join the family following the service at Craig County High School Cafeteria for food and fellowship to continue celebrating Marcus's life.
