Eva Duncan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bates Cooper Sloan Funeral Home - Mount Pleasant on Mar. 31, 2026.
Howell Cob Duncan and Lois Eva Kelley Duncan gave birth to Eva Jean Duncan on January the 5th of 1938 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

She was the first daughter of the family and had two older brothers, Reginald Wallace and James Arthur who were also born in the Lil Brown house there in Wichita Falls. Her father was a machinist. As WWII broke out, the aircraft industry was calling all machinist that could muster to the aircraft manufacturing plants located on the West Coast. The family relocated to San Diego, California where she was raised and went to and graduated from high school. During this time, she had a third brother, Hal Wayne Duncan. Several years after high school, she married and relocated to the Midwest. She had two daughters and an adopted daughter. She divorced and remarried and again divorced.

She was always very artistic and mechanically capable, which proved to be her calling as she was a commercial equipment operator in the road construction industry, and later as a commercial truck driver. Jean has also always been known as a very creative writer, and generated numerous interesting memorial documents about her experiences, and her family history.

She was preceded in death by her father, next her mother who lived to be 101, her eldest brother, and next her elder brother.

She is survived by her three daughters, several cousins, grandchildren, and her younger brother.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Nevills Chapel Cemetery.
