Eva Joetta Ellis Garrett, age 85, of Allardt, TN, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on February 16, 2026, at her home with loved ones by her side following a long illness.

She belonged to the Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Robbins, TN, where she was founding member, and worked in the church throughout her lifetime which was a testament of her love of the Lord.

Eva is preceded in death by her husband: James Garrett; daughter: Peggy Campbell and husband David; grandson: James Earl Jones; great granddaughter: Addison Frogge; mother: Ivory Kimbrell and stepfather: Arnold Kimbrell; father: Virgil Byrd; brothers: Freddy Blevins and Chester; sisters: Ina Garrett, Verna Adkins and Helen Tiemen.

She is survived by her son: Jim Garrett; daughter: Kathy Jones and husband William; granddaughters: Christina Sexton and husband Darren; Ashley Garrett, and Jennifer Westfield and husband Richie; grandsons: Travis Jones and wife Tabitha, Matt Campbell and wife Alyssa, and Eric Campbell; nine great grandchildren: Hunter, Chase and Josh Sexton, Annalie, Abbie and Allie Frogge, Caylin Campbell, Kaylii and Kelsey Westfelt, Katelin, Travis, Dalton and Raven Jones, Justin, Brianna and Hali Hicks; brothers: Richard Kimbrell and Lonnie Byrd; sister: Pansy Garrett and Hazel Mercer; 19 great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

The family sends a special thanks to hospice nurses: Annette and Ashton for all their heartfelt care.

Joetta will forever be missed and cherished in the hearts of those who love her, and they celebrate the homecoming of all that Heaven holds, now that she is finally home.

Friends may visit with the Garrett family on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Kimbrell and Bro. William Jones officiating.

Committal service will follow in the Black Creek Cross Roads Cemetery in Robbins, TN.
