Eva Dell Hobbs

Eva Dell Hobbs, age 91, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at her home with her son and daughter-in-law by her side in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born on July 1, 1934, in Gleason, Tennessee, she was born a twin. Her sister, Iva Nell Hobbs passed away when she was ten months old. She is survived by her brother, Joe Hobbs; sister-in-law, Bonnie Hobbs; son, Eddie Scurlock; daughters-in-law; Nina Scurlock, Connie Scurlock, and Jeannette Ward, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Eva was especially devoted to her family. She cherished her time with her grandchildren and was most fond of her great-grandchildren. She absolutely loved to gather her family and prepare a home cooked meal. Known for her warm spirit and kindness, Eva brought joy to all who knew her. Her legacy and memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, 2PM to 3PM at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel.

924 Menaul Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87107. As we reflect on Eva, we remember her dedication to life, her many years of work at Albuquerque Public Schools in culinary, the many children she fostered, and her loyalty to others.

We invite all to remember Eva with love and fondness as we celebrate the impact, she has had on so many lives. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those wishing to honor her memory to consider a donation to the research of Alzheimer's Disease. Eva Dell Hobbs will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those she leaves behind.
