Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mack's Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Elberton on Jan. 27, 2026.
Evangelist Eva Lois (Calhoun) Jackson peacefully transitioned from this life on January 27, 2026, after living a life rooted in love, service, faith, and gratitude. She was a devoted servant of God whose life was a living testimony of unwavering faith. Anyone who encountered Eva Lois left knowing just how deeply she loved the Lord and how fully she trusted Him.
Whether she was enjoying laughter or friendly competition while playing spades with her nephews Tyrone, Seabon, Chris or with Annie Ruth on a Saturday night, or faithfully joining the 5:00 a.m. prayer calls, Eva Lois's commitment to God never wavered. Her faith was not something she turned on and off, it was woven into every part of her life. She loved being surrounded by the people she loved most, and she found her greatest joy in fellowship, family, and community.
Throughout every season of her life, Eva Lois faced both triumphs and trials with the same steady declaration: "God got me." Those words were not just something she said, they were something she lived. She carried wisdom earned through experience and freely shared it with anyone who needed encouragement, guidance, or prayer. She had a nurturing spirit and naturally became a mother figure to many, offering love, truth, and comfort without judgment.
Eva Lois was an amazing and devoted mother whose love knew no limits. She gave of herself freely and selflessly, always putting others before herself. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, the prayers she prayed, the faith she modeled, and the love she poured out so generously. Though she will be deeply missed, her life stands as a powerful reminder of a woman who trusted God completely and loved people wholeheartedly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Della Ree (Turman) Calhoun; her father, Clyde Lewis, Jr.; her devoted husband, Howard Jackson, Jr.; and her siblings, John Louis Calhoun, James Calhoun, Thelma Lewis Williams, Vernell Lewis Berkins, Angie Lewis and Byron Lewis.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children Vickie (Julian) Wilkins, James Willingham, Felicia Lee, Iven Jackson, Nakita Jackson, Ambreshia Jackson, and Jordan Jackson; her sisters Elnora Calhoun Davis, Irmanell Calhoun Heard, Genora (Sammy) Hamm, and Donna Lewis Robinson; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
