Eva May Rodgers "Coot" JENKINS

Eva May "Coot" Rodgers Jenkins, 89, of Warren, OH departed this life Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 8:04 a.m. at her residence, following complications from an extended illness.

She was born April 4, 1936 in Luverne, AL, the daughter of Douglas Rodgers and Beatrice Bozeman Rodgers McTear, residing in the area for 61 years, coming from Luverne.

She was employed with Jimmy Chiefo Restaurant for 4 years as a Dishwasher, before retiring in 1987.

She was a member of the Third Christian Church, where she assisted with Vacation Bible School and enjoyed needle pointing and puzzles.

She married Selma Jenkins Sr. in 1954, he died in 1964.

She leaves to mourn one son, Travis Jenkins of Aliquippa, PA; four daughters, Mrs. Mable (John) Carolyn Ryans, Ms. Thelma Jenkins, Ms. Runetta Jenkins and Ms. Elizabeth Howard all of Warren; two brothers, James W. (Patricia) Rodgers Sr. and Howard Rodgers both of Warren; three sisters, Mrs. Silver (Jacob) Bennett, Ms. Shirley A. Rodgers (David) Brantley and Ms. Sarah Rodgers all of Warren; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Selma Jenkins Jr. and Jerome Jenkins; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia D. Clay and Mrs. Nellie A. Johnson; two brothers, Walter Pete Rodgers and Demond L. Rodgers; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Rodgers McTear, Ms. Ernestine Rodgers, Ms. Virginia Rodgers Smith and Ms. Delores Rodgers.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. James Church of God in Christ, with Calling Hours from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
