Eva Palumbo

PALUMBO, Eva. September 1, 2018. Age 93. Beloved wife of the late Ettore. Loving mother of Angela (Jon) Shock, Louis (Julie), Daniel, Michael (Judi), Joseph, James, & Laura (David) Carlesimo. Treasured nonna of Matthew (Rena), Jay, the late Anthony, Nicholas, Lisa (Devin), Argent (Emily), Briana, Jacob, Anthony, Benjamin, Maura, Joshua, & Sophia. Proud & adored great nonna of Willow, Bo, Leo, & Christian. Dear sister of the late Catherine, Anthony (Grace), & Katy. Eva was born on January 26th, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri to Angelo and Giuseppina Mazzola. During the Great Depression, her father sent her and her family to their hometown in Sicily. After a few years, she returned back to the United States to reside in Detroit. It was there that she became smitten with their neighbor upstairs. Ettore and Eva married several years later shortly after the 4th of July. Seven children and 30 years later, they were still hosting 4th of July parties to celebrate their love and the love of their family - something that meant the world to Eva. Even after her husband's death, she continued her passion for gardening and would let her grandchildren pick their favorite roses from her garden. A woman with quick wit and a zest for life, she will be dearly missed by all. Visitation Friday 3-9pm at Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons Inc., (Shelby) 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile. Instate Saturday 10:30am until time of 11am Mass at St. Kieran Church 53600 Mound Rd (Btw. 24 & 25 Mile). Interment, Resurrection Cemetery.
